Season 2 planned for AMC series 'Mad Men'

The show is set at a high-profile advertising agency in 1960 New York.

"I actually screamed," Moss told UPI when asked how she reacted to news the show would be back next year. "Because it was just a big relief and I didn't even want to really think about it too much because it just would have been too heart-breaking not to be able to go back. I was honestly just really, really excited to be able to make more (episodes)."

Moss said she is "pleased and happy," but not surprised that the show has been embraced by viewers and critics.

"We tried to tell the best possible stories in the best possible way," she said. "So when other people enjoy it, it's incredibly gratifying."

The actress, who previously acted on "The West Wing," said she thinks the concept of "Mad Men" is brilliant.

"It's such a great time period to dive into," she said. "You're just at the beginning of the 1960s and the end of the 1950s -- these two incredibly different eras."
