LAS VEGAS, Oct. 22 (UPI) -- The FBI denied reports that $2 million in cash was seized from illusionist David Copperfield's Las Vegas warehouse last week, TMZ.com reported.
"No currency was seized during our investigating activity in Las Vegas," Seattle FBI Special Agent Robbie Burroughs told the Web site.
The FBI hasn't confirmed Copperfield is the target of an investigation, however, media reports last week said federal investigators searched the warehouse and confiscated several items, including cash, in connection with a case in Seattle. Fox News reported that a Seattle woman had accused Copperfield of raping her in the Bahamas.
Copperfield's Las Vegas attorney, David Chesnoff, said last week: "If, in fact, those are the allegations, unfortunately false allegations are all too often made against famous individuals. But we are confident the investigation will conclude favorably. We are in touch with the investigators and are respecting the confidentiality of the investigation."
