NEW YORK, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- British soul singer Amy Winehouse plans to make a rare U.S. appearance at the upcoming mtvU Woodie Awards in New York.
Winehouse, The Academy Is... and Spank Rock are all set to perform at the event Nov. 8 at the Roseland Ballroom in Manhattan.
The mtvU Woodie Awards are the only awards to honor the music voted best by the college audience, mtvU said in a statement.
The show will premiere simultaneously on mtvU and mtvU.com Nov. 15.
Nominees include The Shins, Modest Mouse, Gym Class Heroes, Lily Allen, Justice, Linkin Park and The Academy Is... .
Also earning nods are Winehouse, Arcade Fire, Lil' Wayne, Bright Eyes, The Knife, Common, Klaxons, M.I.A., Spoon, CSS, The Rapture, TV on the Radio, Thom Yorke and Paramore.
