Alleged Cage home invader was naked

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Oct. 4 (UPI) -- The man Nicolas Cage allegedly found wandering in his Newport Beach, Calif., home was naked at the time of the incident, the Los Angeles Times has reported.

Robert Furo Jr., who identified himself as a tailor, was arrested after Cage allegedly saw him standing in a bathroom doorway, wearing nothing but Cage's leather jacket at about 1:30 a.m. Monday.

Lt. Craig Fox of the Newport Beach Police Department said Cage didnt know the naked tailor and said Furo was not carrying a weapon.

"There was no assault to Mr. Cage," and the suspect "didn't resist him or the officers," Fox told the Times. "We know of no possible motive."

The actor's wife, Alice Kim, and their 2-year-old son, Kal-El, were asleep in the house at the time.

Furo pleaded innocent to felony burglary Tuesday and remains jailed.

Bail was set at $50,000 and Furo is due back in court for a pretrial hearing next Wednesday.

Cage's director uncle, Francis Ford Coppola, also was a recent burglary victim.

The "Godfather" filmmaker last week had camera equipment and several computers stolen from his Buenos Aires home, which is also where his Zoetrope Argentina studio is based.
