Chile, Greece to get own 'Power of 10'

CULVER CITY, Calif., Oct. 1 (UPI) -- Sony Pictures Television International has signed deals to create local versions of its hot new game show "Power of 10" in Australia, Chile, France and Greece.

The company has also licensed the U.S. version of the show to Canada and South Korea.

"'Power of 10' is a rarity in television because it combines the excitement of a traditional game show and the inventive use of popular opinion to produce a show that can be easily adapted in so many countries," said Sander Schwartz, SPTI president of international production.

On the show, contestants compete for a cash prize by answering questions on a wide range of subjects based on what they think U.S. residents have answered when polled.

"'Power of 10' was created from the outset with the international market in mind," added Michael Davies, the show's creator and executive producer.

"It is simple, immediately engaging and about the entire nation, whether that nation is America, France, Latvia or any other country in the world that has citizens who disagree with each other."
