LOS ANGELES, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Rodney Dangerfield's wife has filed a lawsuit to prevent a former friend from releasing personal video footage of the late Hollywood comedian.
Joan Dangerfield filed the lawsuit last week in Los Angeles County Superior Court to keep David Permut from making public "highly private, extremely sensitive and very personal" video footage of the comedian filmed shortly before he died in 2004 at the age of 82, TMZ reported.

The suit said Permut planned to use some of the 200 hours of footage, which Joan Dangerfield maintains was never supposed to be made public, in a documentary he intends to premiere at the Sundance film festival next year.
TMZ said Permut's production company didn't return calls for comment.
