Ratner, Tucker may make 'Sinatra' pic

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- "Rush Hour" collaborators Brett Ratner and Chris Tucker may make "Mr. S: My Life With Frank Sinatra" their next Hollywood project.

New Line, the studio behind the "Rush Hour" blockbusters, has optioned the rights to the book with Ratner attached to direct and produce and Tucker considering the starring role of George Jacobs, Sinatra's longtime valet, Variety.com said Thursday.

Written by Jacobs and William Stadiem, the book was published by HarperCollins in 2003 and offers a unique behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of Sinatra, the Rat Pack and other celebrities like Marilyn Monroe, the Kennedys, Ava Gardner, Humphrey Bogart, Mia Farrow, Elvis Presley and Marlene Dietrich, the Web site said.

"It's like a love story between two very unlikely people," Stadiem told the trade paper. "Brett is a Rat Pack obsessive and so it's fun to work with someone so passionate about the period. I think he's channeling Frank sometimes."
