Vince Neil and Slash as camp counselors?

LAS VEGAS, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- Rock icons Slash, Roger Daltrey and Joe Walsh have signed on to headline this year’s Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp in Las Vegas.

To be held at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino this November, the five-day event offers music lovers of any skill level the chance to study and perform with real professional rockers. Other top names will include Vince Neil, Alan White and Jack Bruce.

Once there, "campers" are each assigned to a band led by a rock star counselor. Highlights of the event include writing and recording an original song, master classes taught by renowned talent and daily jam sessions with the stars, said organizers of the camp.

"This reminds me of what it used to be like when we started, when we were rough and ready and didn't let anyone stand in the way of our dream," Daltrey, of The Who, said in a statement. "I feel quite passionate about it because it motivates people through music. The campers all rise to the occasion -- it's fantastic."
