Tomlin won't write off 'Companion' Lohan

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Veteran Hollywood actresses Lily Tomlin and Mary Kay Place said they are rooting for troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan to make a comeback.

Tomlin and Place were on the red carpet at the 59th Emmy Awards show in Los Angeles Sunday, promoting their new HBO show, "12 Miles of Bad Road," when Tomlin was asked if she thinks Lohan can bounce back from all the bad press she has been getting for her self-destructive bahavior.

"It depends on the choices she makes," Tomlin told E! Online of her co-star in "A Prairie Home Companion."

"I think this was a big wake-up call for her. She’s really a good kid, and when we did 'Prairie,' she couldn’t have been more adorable... She was very respectful and wonderful."

Place also offered positive thoughts about Lohan's career.

"She's a good actress," she said. "I’m fully confident that she will (make a comeback.)"
