CHICAGO, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Jerry Springer has hired a trio of off-duty female police officers to help with security on his raucous Chicago-based TV talk show.
The show's 17th season is slated to kick off Monday in national syndication with Mimi Madrigal, Katie Darwin and Mari Flores reporting for duty and joining the veteran male members of the Springer security team, NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution said in a statement.
"The truth is, with these three women, our security has never been better -- looking," said Springer, who is coming off a successful run as host of NBC's summer series, "America's Got Talent."
"The last time I got arrested it was by these three women," quipped executive producer Richard Dominick. "They were very forceful and impressive, so I gave them a job."
