NEW YORK, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Edie Falco will follow up her portrayal of mob wife Carmela on HBO’s "The Sopranos" with a three-episode arc on the U.S. sit-com, "30 Rock,” this season.

"I have laughed out loud at this show, and I am thrilled for the opportunity to work with such great comic actors," Falco told Zap2it.com. "I am very excited."

The "30 Rock" stint will be Falco’s first television work since "The Sopranos" ended in June.

It will also be Falco's first broadcast-network appearance since she appeared on an episode of "Will and Grace" in 2004.

Tina Fey, creator and star of "30 Rock," said she was happy to have "such an amazing actress" appear on the show.

"Also, a lot of guys on our crew want 'The Sopranos' ending explained to them," Fey added.

Jerry Seinfeld, Rip Torn, Will Arnett and Sherri Shepherd are also expected to make guest appearances on the show.
