Bo Diddley hospitalized for heart attack

GAINESVILLE, Fla., Aug. 29 (UPI) -- Rock 'n' roll icon Bo Diddley was in stable condition at a Florida hospital after suffering a heart attack following a routine check-up, his publicist said.

Publicist Susan Clary said Diddley, 78, was visiting his doctor late last week when he complained of dizziness and nausea, The Gainesville Sun reported Wednesday. After being taking to a Gainesville hospital, it was determined he suffered a heart attack.

"He was moved from the ICU to cardiac care (Wednesday) morning, so that's encouraging," she said.

Diddley was hospitalized in Nebraska in May after he suffered a stroke. He eventually was transferred to a Gainesville area hospital where he stayed for more than two weeks before returning to his home in nearby Archer.
