LOS ANGELES, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Entertainment icon Merv Griffin reportedly is in grave condition after having been hospitalized in Los Angeles last month for a recurrence of prostate cancer.
Entertainment Tonight reported Friday sources said the prognosis wasn't good, however, Griffin's representatives would not comment on Griffin's condition.
Griffin, 82, was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles in mid-July after a routine exam found a recurrence of the prostate cancer he battled in 1996.
The creator of “Jeopardy!” “Wheel of Fortune” and host of the “Merv Griffin Show” talk program makes his home in La Quinta, Calif., where he keeps a 250-acre ranch. He recently was the developer of an upscale equine community on a section of his ranch, the Palm Springs (Calif.) Desert Sun reported.
