SEATTLE , Aug. 7 (UPI) -- The new Mel Brooks musical "Young Frankenstein" premieres on stage in Seattle before heading to Broadway this fall, said Playbill.com.

This marks the second time Brooks has adapted one of his movies for the stage.

His 2001 Broadway production of "The Producers" was a smash box-office hit and won 12 Tonys, the most in the history of the award.

Several members of "The Producers" creative team have reunited for "Young Frankenstein," including Tony-winning director-choreographer Susan Stroman, Tony-winning co-librettists Brooks and Thomas Meehan, and music supervisor Glen Kelly, Playbill.com said.

The world-premiere engagement of "Young Frankenstein" is set to run through Sept. 1 at Seattle's Paramount Theatre, prior to previews at Broadway's Hilton Theater, starting Oct. 11.

The show is scheduled to officially open on Broadway Nov. 8.
