Busta Rhymes gets four trials

NEW YORK, July 10 (UPI) -- Busta Rhymes burst into a grin Tuesday after a New York judge denied a prosecutor's request to roll the rapper's four arrests into one court appearance.

Rhymes, whose real name is Trevor Smith, was arrested four times in the last 10 months -- for misdemeanor assault, driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license -- will be handled separately, TMZ.com reported Tuesday. The district attorney said it sought to try the four together to save to,e.

The rapper last month rejected a plea offer that include a year of jail and a $1,500 fine.

Rhymes is due back in court Sept. 5, when trial dates, if necessary, will be set.
