Pavarotti working on new album

ROME, July 4 (UPI) -- Opera singer Luciano Pavarotti has dismissed accounts of his failing health and, in fact, is recording a new album, the Italian tenor's manager said.

Pavarotti, who has pancreatic cancer, is "very positive," said manager Terri Robson, who rejected a story appearing in Italian and German magazines that claimed one of Pavarotti's daughters said he knew he would "die soon," the BBC reported Wednesday.

Robson said Giuliana Pavarotti was "horrified her words were twisted." The tenor reportedly laughed when he heard about the article.

Pavarotti is "feeling stronger" as he splits time between his two homes in Italy, recording the album of classic religious music and teaching, Robson said.

Pavarotti, 71, was diagnosed with cancer last year.
