GLASTONBURY, England, June 24 (UPI) -- About 1,200 people have been hurt at Britain's Glastonbury Music Festival in Somerset, with 32 being transferred to a hospital for treatment.
Just about all of the injuries were caused by the mud obstacle course created from the torrential downpour of rain, The Independent reported Sunday.
More chaos was expected at the festival after forecasters warned of more torrential downpours across southern England.
But Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis, said the nearly $1.5 million drainage system installed in grounds last year has worked like a charm.
"We must have had about the same amount of rain this year, roughly three inches in one day, as we did two years ago, and yet there's nowhere near as much mud or water. The rain hasn't dampened anyone's spirits," Eavis told the British newspaper.
