Keri Russell gives birth in New York

NEW YORK, June 19 (UPI) -- Actress Keri Russell, who currently stars in "Waitress," and her husband Shane Deary have welcomed their first child in New York.

The baby boy, River Russell Deary, was born in New York on June 9, but his birth was not made public until Monday, People magazine reported.

Russell, 31, first stepped into the spotlight on the television show "Felicity" and is now appearing in the independent film "Waitress."

"I'm one of the lucky ones. ... It's a big, life-changing experience, and we're excited," she had previously told People of her pregnancy.
