NEW YORK, June 16 (UPI) -- Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" has made a triumphant comeback since it was played during the series' June 10 finale of HBO's "The Sopranos."
Download sales of the song on iTunes.com rose 482 percent from the night before the finale, June 9, through June 12, Legacy Recordings reported Saturday.
It wasn't only digital sales that skyrocketed. By Thursday, sales for Journey's "Greatest Hits" album increased 104 percent at Best Buy, 98 percent at Borders, 97 percent at Target and 40 percent at Circuit City.
In it's 26th year, the song has reached No. 1 on the iTunes Music Rock Chart and No. 18 on the iTunes Music Top 100 chart.
The song also was featured in "Monster," starring Charlize Theron, and made its way to the iTunes Top 10 in 2005 after appearing on "Family Guy" and "Laguna Beach."
The song also gained exposure when it became the unofficial theme song for the Chicago White Sox, who won the World Series in 2005.
