Bush greets musician-activists at G8

HEILIGENDAMM, Germany, June 6 (UPI) -- President Bush greeted musician-activists Bono, Bob Geldoff and Youssou N'Dour Wednesday during a break in the Group of Eight summit in Germany.

Bush shook hands with the three on the grounds of the Kempinski Grand Hotel in Heiligendamm, G8 pool coverage reported. Posing for pictures, his arm around U2's Bono, the president said, "Hanging out with good company, aren't I?"

The three use their international clout to raise awareness for issues such as AIDS funding and research, famine relief and human rights. Bono is known for his activism involving Africa. Geldoff is the singer-songwriter who founded Live Aid. N'Dour is a Senegalese singer and percussionist associated with several political and social issues.
