LOS ANGELES, June 5 (UPI) -- Russell Crowe, who enjoys acting success in the United States and Australia, has formed Fear of God Films and set up his first project as producer.
Crowe optioned "Dolce's Inferno," a spec script by Mark Staufer. The Oscar-winner said he plans to develop the project as a producer but not star in it, Variety reported Tuesday.
The contemporary romantic comedy is about a hard-nosed gossip columnist who falls in love and watches his world spin out of control.
"I'm looking forward to collaborating with Mark, who is such a talented writer," Crowe said.
Crowe is planning to make his feature directing debut on "Bra Boys," a feature adaptation of a documentary about the Australian underground surf culture. He directed and produced the documentary, "Texas."
Crowe also will be in the Scott-directed "Nottingham."
