Rosario Dawson not obsessed with diet

LONDON, May 4 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Rosario Dawson tells the British edition of Elle magazine women who starve themselves remind her of small, shivering dogs.

"When I see a woman who is all gaunt and emaciated, I don't think she's beautiful," Dawson said. "She reminds me of a Chihuahua that's freezing and shaking all the time. I've never been a size zero in my life. I say if you want to eat the cookie -- eat the cookie!"

Dawson is fit and does not obsess about her diet, she told Elle's June issue.

"I don't understand people starving themselves to look good," Dawson said. "You might look cute in those jeans for one year of your life, but you might take 10 years off your life if you're not careful. It's not healthy."

The 27-year-old star of the movie "Grindhouse" said women should not compare themselves to celebrities: "Most of the time (celebrities) don't look like that. My pictures get airbrushed. We're in the business of illusion."
