Kardashian to profit from sex tape

LOS ANGELES, May 1 (UPI) -- California socialite Kim Kardashian will get millions from the distributor marketing the sex videotape of her and ex-boyfriend, rapper Ray J., E! News said.

One source said Kardashian could receive as much as $5 million to settle her lawsuit against Los Angeles-based Vivid Entertainment but another source pegged it closer to $3 million. Vivid is to stop selling the sex tape by the end of May.

"We met with her several times and finally reached a financial arrangement that we both feel is fair," Vivid Co-Chairman Steven Hirsch told E! News. "We've always known we had the legal right to distribute this video, which became an instant bestseller and we've always wanted to work something out with Kim so she could share in the profit."

Kardashian, the stylist-socialite daughter of the late O.J. Simpson defense attorney Robert Kardashian and stepdaughter of former Olympic athlete Bruce Jenner, said she's relieved the legal fight is over.

"I have so much going on in my life. I never wanted anyone to think of me as Kim Kardashian, sex tape star," she said. "I still have to live with the embarrassment and fear that one day my grandkids are going to see it."
