Donny Osmond shows his love for the '70s

LOS ANGELES, April 24 (UPI) -- After making his own hits during the 1970s, Donny Osmond is singing some of his favorites from the era.

On "Love Songs of the '70s," Osmond covers hits by Al Green, Ace, Barry Manilow, the Bee Gees, Billy Preston and others.

"It's a concept I've had in the back of my mind for a long time," Osmond said. "I wanted to pick songs that influenced me as a teenager that I wish I could have recorded back then."

"Love Songs..." is Osmond's 55th album and first since 2005's jazz-tinged "What I Meant to Say."
