HOLLYWOOD, April 11 (UPI) -- Singer-dancer Willa Ford has been cast as Anna Nicole Smith in the Hollywood biography, "Anna Nicole," scheduled to begin shooting next week.
Keoni Waxman will direct the independent film, which traces Smith's life from age 17 until her death Feb. 8 at age 39, Variety reported Wednesday. Some of the milestones planned for inclusion are her success as a Playboy Playmate; Guess? model and actress; her marriage to oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II; the death of her son and her own death five months after giving birth to daughter Dannielynn.
Ford's best-known single is the multi-platinum "I Wanna Be Bad." She also was a celebrity contestant on the third season of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."
She is currently writing and recording her follow-up album to "Willa Was Here."
