LOS ANGELES, April 4 (UPI) -- Film director Robert Clark and his son Ariel were killed in a car crash near Los Angeles early Wednesday morning.
The collision occurred on Pacific Coast Highway in Pacific Palisades, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Clark, who was 67, was best known as the director of the classic 1983 holiday movie, "A Christmas Story," and the 1982 coming-of-age comedy, "Porky's."
The crash occurred about 2:30 a.m. Clark and his 22-year-old son were found dead at the scene in their Infiniti, the newspaper said.
The driver and passenger of a second vehicle were taken to the UCLA Medical Center. The driver of the other vehicle faced charges of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Kevin Maiberger told the newspaper.
Maiberger said speed was a factor in the crash.
"I'm not sure if that means one car, or both cars were speeding," he said.
