'7th Heaven' sets second series finale

BURBANK, Calif., April 3 (UPI) -- "7th Heaven" will air its second series farewell in May when the family drama finale airs on the California-based CW network.

"7th Heaven," which started on the WB network and now airs on the CW, will have its series finale May 13. The episode, "And Away We Go," marks the second time viewers have a chance to say good-bye to minister Eric Camden (Stephen Collins) and his extended family, Hollywood Reporter said Tuesday.

The series' first finale aired on WB in May amid fanfare about it being the series closer. But the CW, which launched in September after the merger of WB and UPN, gave "7th Heaven" a renewal in May, announcing that the show would return in fall 2006 as part of the CW's inaugural lineup.

"7th Heaven," which debuted in August 1996 and marked the first Monday broadcast of the WB network, will exit in May as the longest-running family drama on television.
