NASHVILLE, March 27 (UPI) -- The Music City Walk of Fame star wattage will amp up by six when commemorative markers are unveiled for Nashville's Walk of Fame's second class of honorees.
Buddy Holly's band The Crickets, singers Emmylou Harris, John Hiatt, Wynonna Judd and Michael W. Smith, and businesswoman Frances Preston will be honored during a ceremony April 22 in the Hall of Fame Park in downtown Nashville.
"This class of inductees continues to showcase the diversity of the music that thrives in this city," said Butch Spyridon, president of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau. "Each honoree has left an indelible mark on music worldwide and on our city's musical heritage."
The Music City Walk of Fame is a project of Music City, Inc., the charitable foundation of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau. It is produced with the support of presenting sponsor Gibson Guitar, sponsor Great American Country, the city of Nashville and its parks department.
