The Who takes a break from touring

DALLAS, March 24 (UPI) -- The Who's Roger Daltrey had to walk off the stage at a Tampa, Fla., concert because of a bad viral infection, a report says.

The singer was laid low in Florida for a bit before flying to Dallas and checking into the Hotel Crescent Court to allow himself to heal, the Dallas Morning News reported.

The band had to cancel Saturday night's show in San Antonio as well as a show in Mexico City.

The other surviving member of the Who, Pete Townshend, used his time off to go to Austin for the SXSW festival, the report said.

Townshend said on a blog Thursday that Daltry has been allowed to return to the tour.

"Roger has been advised by no less than three doctors that he is OK to perform," Townshend wrote.
