Smith's biography updated, republished

NEW YORK, Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Sellers of books across the United States await delivery of "Great Big Beautiful Doll," the only biography of Anna Nicole Smith, the book's publisher said.

The book, by Eric and D'Eva Redding, was published in hardcover in 1996, but Barricade Books recently completed an updated paperback version, The New York Times said Thursday. The paperback is expected to hit the shelves Friday.

Smith died Feb. 8 in a Hollywood, Fla., hospital where she was taken after being found unresponsive in her hotel room. A cause of death has not been determined.

Carole Stuart, Barricade Books publisher, said she noted Smith's recent troubles, particularly the death of her 20-year-old son, Daniel, and the paternity dispute over her daughter, Dannielynn. The original traced Smith's life up to her marriage to oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II.

"I just thought, so much has happened in the 10 years since the first book came out that it would make a good trade paperback," Stuart said.

A competing biography is in the works at Phoenix Books but won't be available for several months, the Times said. "Train Wreck: Anna Nicole Unauthorized" was written by Donna Hogan, Smith's half-sister.
