HOLLYWOOD, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Writer Joss Whedon said he's done with "Wonder Woman" as Hollywood's Warner Bros. and Silver Pictures announced they bought a "Wonder Woman" script.
The "Wonder Woman" spec script was written by Matthew Jennison and Brent Strickland, MTV News said. It was reported that the production companies bought the script as a legal move to take it off the market and protect them against any possible similarities between the script Whedon was developing and the one written by Jennison and Strickland.
"Let me stress that everybody at the studio and Silver Pictures were cool and professional," said Whedon, the creator of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" who spent more than two years on the "Wonder Woman" project. "We just saw different movies, and at the price range this kind of movie hangs in, that's never gonna work."
