'Harry Potter' sheds cloak for 'Equus'

LONDON, Jan. 30 (UPI) -- British theater-goers will have a chance to see "Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe in an altogether different view -- in the altogether.

Radcliffe is making his stage debut as Alan Strang, the disturbed stable hand who blinds horses in the first London revival of Peter Schaffer's "Equus," the Telegraph said. During the performance, Radcliffe's character appears naked.

The 17-year-old Hogswarts wizard-in-training stripped for an "Equus" photo shoot recently, prompting producer David Pugh to say, "There was no hesitancy about taking off his clothes. When that boy takes his shirt off, Harry Potter has flown out of Hogwarts for good."

The play opens Feb. 27.
