LOS ANGELES, Jan. 30 (UPI) -- Quentin Tarantino, director of "Pulp Fiction," "Jackie Brown" and the "Kill Bill" series, was named American Cinema Editors filmmaker of the year.
"Quentin Tarantino is a true visionary," the ACE board said in a statement. "His rich and original body of work represents the best that our creative community has to offer."

Previous recipients include Steven Spielberg, Garry Marshall, James Cameron, Barry Levinson and Ron Howard, Variety said.
Tarantino will be presented his award during the 57th annual ACE Eddie Awards ceremony Feb. 18 in Los Angeles.
