INDIANAPOLIS, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- Indiana rocker Henry Lee Summer was sentenced to a year's probation after pleading guilty Monday in a Marion County, Ind., court to drunken driving.
In his plea agreement, Summers, whose real name is Henry Lee Swartz, pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, the Indianapolis Star said. Two other charges -- resisting law enforcement and failing to stop after an accident -- were dropped.
At sentencing, his license was suspended for 180 days, and he was ordered to pay about $950 in restitution to two people whose property was damaged.
Summer, 51, was arrested Sept. 15 in a mobile home park, where he had driven his vehicle into cars, trucks and at least one mobile home.
Summer's hits included "I Wish I had a Girl (Who Walked Like That)" and a cover of "Hey Baby." Though he faded from the national scene in the early 1990s, he continues to perform.
