MUMBAI, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Bollywood's most talked-about couple, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, became engaged during a quiet ceremony in Mumbai.
A wedding date has not been set for Rai, 30, and Bachchan, 33, Press Trust of India said. They became engaged at the Bachchan's home in Mumbai, formerly Bombay, after returning from New York where they were promoting the film "Guru." Earlier, another ceremony was performed at Rai's house.
Speculation about the couple's pending engagement was fueled late last year when the couple accompanied Bachchan's parents to perform rituals at a Varanasi temple.
