Report: 'Bridget' duo to stay at Universal

HOLLYWOOD, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- British filmmakers Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner reportedly were set to renew their relationship with Hollywood's Universal Pictures.

The Los Angeles Times said Saturday that the producers of "Pride and Prejudice" and the "Bridget Jones" films apparently won't jump ship to join former Universal chief Stacey Snider at rival Dreamworks.

The newspaper said the proposed contract would last seven years and would give Bevan and Fellner a greater role in developing projects for the studio in Europe.

Analysts pointed out that the pair have been prolific producers for Universal, and the arrangement has paid off for them as well in the form of profit-sharing agreements and wide artistic autonomy.
