NEW YORK, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Actor/writer Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant plan to use the same format for "Extras" on HBO that they used for "The Office."
For the British version of "The Office," the duo wrote 12 episodes, which ran over two seasons, a holiday special, and that was it, the New York Daily News reported Thursday.
They said they plan to use that same number of episodes and seasons for "Extras," which is entering its second and final season Sunday on HBO.
"You've got to give it your best shot, and get in and out," Gervais told the Daily News. "You've got to jab and move.
"I don't know if I can brag about the body of work because I have only done 15 hours of TV," he added. "But what I can be proud of is the batting average. I knew the batting average would be higher if I didn't do as much."
