Courtney Thorne-Smith weds in secret

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- "According to Jim" star and "Melrose Place" alum Courtney Thorne-Smith got married in a ceremony so secret her parents weren't even invited.

Thorne-Smith and Hollywood marketing executive Roger Fishman tied the knot during the New Year's holiday weekend, OK! magazine reported exclusively.

The ceremony was so clandestine, the only witnesses were a single friend and the couple's dogs, Thorne-Smith's representative told the magazine.

"They pulled it off by filing for a sealed license, which you can do in California as easily as getting an unlisted phone number," a friend told OK!

Publicity was not really an issue -- but Thorne-Smith's superstition was, the friend said.

Her first marriage to a genetic scientist in 2000 ended the same week their wedding pictures were featured in a fashion magazine, OK! noted. She was engaged in 2004 to another doctor, but called off the wedding just weeks before the ceremony.

"Courtney was determined that her third try at marriage would be the charm," the source said.
