NEW YORK, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Rapper Snoop Dogg's Snoop Youth Football League Foundation is being sued in New York Supreme Court for backing out of a reality TV deal.
The breach of contract suit filed by Natural Resources Media and Technology Group seeks $250,000 in damages plus attorney's fees, The Hollywood Reporter said Friday.
The rapper, whose real name is Calvin Brodus, allegedly made a deal in June with NRMT for a reality series about his football league activities, the suit said.
But 20th Century Fox claims "exclusive rights" to depicting Snoop in any film or television production based on his two sons' football teams and leagues.
"Coach Snoop" is being developed by Fox as a motion picture and Fox Senior Vice President for Legal Affairs Michael Ross sent a letter to NRMT, claiming the TV project would "severely impact the viability" of the film.
Donald Etra, Snoop's attorney, refused to comment.
