J.Lo high on 'influential' Hispanics list

NEW YORK, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Bronx-born Jennifer Lopez will be on the cover of the new Spanish edition of People magazine as one of the "100 Most Influential Hispanics."

Other Hispanics deemed influential in the upcoming magazine include the likes of longtime Cuban leader Fidel Castro; New York Mets General Manager Omar Minaya; musicians Johnny Pacheco and Willie Colon; MTV president Christina Norman; and Jose Fernandez, president of the Bodega Owners Association.

Other celebrities named by People en Español include actor Antonio Banderas, musician Carlos Santana, actress Eva Longoria, and singers Gloria Estefan, Shakira, Ricky Martin and Julio Iglesias.

Several world leaders also made the list, including Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and Archbishop of San Antonio Jose Gomez.

Boxer Oscar de la Hoya and racecar driver Juan Pablo Montoya also made the list.
