NEW YORK, Dec. 13 (UPI) -- Investigative journalist and author Kitty Kelley is set to take on iconic U.S. talk show host Oprah Winfrey with her newest book, a report said.

The New York Post reported that the writer, whose previous books tended to focus on celebrities' negative aspects, is set to feature the TV personality in her newest literary offering.

Previous celebrities who were the focus of investigations and their corresponding literary counterparts by Kelley include actress Elizabeth Taylor and singer Frank Sinatra, along with the British royal family and the U.S. presidential dynasty of the Bush family.

The 64-year-old author, who has also taken on former first ladies Nancy Reagan and Jackie Kennedy, reportedly struggled to find a publishing house to support her most recent endeavor.

Yet the Post said that after countless rejections due to Winfrey's immense popularity, the investigator finally found a willing partner in the Crown publishing house.
