Wesley Snipes arrested in tax case

ORLANDO, Calif., Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Hollywood actor Wesley Snipes reportedly has been arrested by federal authorities in Orlando, Fla., for alleged tax fraud.

Snipes was taken in to custody at the Orlando airport Friday and said he was a scapegoat and unfairly targeted by prosecutors, TMZ.com reported.

He is accused of failing to pay nearly $12 million in back taxes. Officials allege that Snipes fraudulently claimed refunds in 1996 and 1997, then failed to file returns between 1999 and 2006.
