Tax trouble for India's Red Chillies

MUMBAI, Nov. 25 (UPI) -- India's Red Chillies Entertainment reportedly has run afoul of the tax collector.

Sources in the Income Tax Department told the Press Trust of India that the company appeared not to have deducted some payroll taxes or the TDS (tax deducted at source) after paying outside studios to do shooting for them.

The allegations were the result of a recent search of the company's offices by tax agents; however the amount of money involved was still being tabulated.

Red Chillies is owned by actor Shah Rukh Khan, one of Bollywood's top leading men.
