NBC's newest game show is 'Identity'

NEW YORK, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- The executive producer of "Ugly Betty" and "The Office" is producing a new game show/mind game called "Identity" for NBC.

NBC plans to air "Identity," which it's calling "the ultimate mind game," for five nights in a row the week before Christmas, Daily Variety reported Monday.

"In politics, you've got the October surprise. We've got the December surprise," said NBC's Craig Plestis, in reference to the network's decision to launch "Identity" during the holidays.

It is being produced by Ben Silverman.

"Identity" is based on an original format in which contestants compete for $500,000 by matching 12 strangers with a dozen unique characteristics, from shoe size and weight to career.

Contestants can only collect the $500,000 top prize if they correctly match up the strangers with their "identities."
