Rapper Game ticketed in NYC cab caper

NEW YORK, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- The red-hot rap star known as The Game was arrested for impersonating a cop in a cab in midtown Manhattan shortly after taping David Letterman's show.

The New York Daily News reported Saturday that The Game, 26 -- a former crack dealer from Compton whose true name is Jayceon Taylor -- hailed a livery cab, with two friends Thursday night and told the driver that he was an "undercover cop."

Game allegedly told the bewildered driver to "hit the gas and speed through the stoplights."

Real police spotted the Lincoln speeding through traffic helter-skelter and pulled it over at Sixth Avenue and W. 43rd Street. The driver told the officer he had been "commandeered" by his so-called police passengers, the Daily News said.

Not buying The Game's phony story and phonier identification, police took him to a local precinct, ticketed him and ordered him to appear in court.

Even the driver caught some heat because only yellow medallion cabs are allowed to pick up passengers who hail them below 96th Street.

By the way, The Game's new album, "Doctor's Advocate," debuted Tuesday.
