Flatley's condition is improving

LONDON, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Dancer Michael Flatley was said to be feeling "a bit better" in a London hospital where he was being treated for an undisclosed illness.

Flatley, 49, has been hospitalized for nearly two weeks but it only recently came to light.

His representative told Friday's Daily Mail the man behind "Lord of the Dance" is "feeling a little bit better today and is anxious to get back home to Castlehyde (Ireland) to rest and recover."

The nature of Flatley's ailment has not been revealed, but the Mail speculated he may have been suffering from a viral infection.

"He is being reviewed daily, and will hopefully be allowed to go home soon, perhaps next week," his spokeswoman said.

The latest health setback is believed to be related to the skin cancer the Chicago native said was cured earlier this year.

Flatley's latest dance production, "Celtic Tiger," was scheduled to begin a European tour next week, but all 20 performances have been canceled.
