Abu Ghraib prison scandal focus of film

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- A new U.S. film from Oscar-winning documentary director Errol Morris is set to focus on the infamous scandal involving Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison.

Morris, whose documentary "The Fog of War" won a 2003 Oscar, will revisit the alleged abuse and torture that occurred at the Iraqi prison with the as-yet-unnamed documentary from Sony Pictures Classics, said the Hollywood Reporter.

The alleged torture was revealed in 2004 when a series of photographs of the suspected terrorists allegedly being abused by U.S. officials were published throughout the world.

The newspaper said in addition to the Hollywood studio that helped release Morris' Oscar-winning film, the director's most recent work will be backed by Participant Productions, the company that recently banked "An Inconvenient Truth."
