Blur's Albarn to tour with new band

LONDON, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Blur lead singer Damon Albarn is set to launch a tour of Britain next year with his new band, The Good, The Bad, and the Queen.

The national tour is aimed at promoting the debut self-titled album from the band, which also holds former Clash member Paul Simonon, Gorillaz drummer Tony Allen and former The Verve guitarist Simon Tong, said NME.com.

Scheduled for a Jan. 27 launch in the British city of Bristol, the tour will also find itself visiting other area locales such as London's York Hall, the Irish Centre in Leeds and Warrington Parr Hall.

The new band marks Albarn's continuing musical expansion outside of Blur, that has included solo endeavors and work with the virtual cartoon band, Gorillaz.

The Web site said that tickets for the musical tour go on sale this Friday.
