LONDON, Oct. 18 (UPI) -- The iconic comedy troupe, Monty Python's Flying Circus, reunited in London for the West End premiere of the musical "Spamalot."
It was a rare opportunity for the former cohorts in silliness to catch up, Michael Palin told the BBC.
John Cleese was the only living Python missing from Tuesday night's star-studded opening of the Tony Award-winning musical based on the 1995 film, "Monty Python and the Holy Grail." He was filming in Australia, the BBC said.
"It's one of the few times when we can actually talk to each other, make a few jokes, and count up the money," Palin said.
Terry Jones, who directed "The Holy Grail," said: "I just hope it's going to be OK. My mortgage depends on it."
The premiere marked the West End return of actor Tim Curry after a nearly 20-year absence. Curry will reprise his Broadway role as King Arthur until January when Shakespearean actor Simon Russell Beale takes over the throne.
