Hugh Jackman returns in 'X-Men' prequel

NEW YORK, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Actor Hugh Jackman has received the final script for the new "X-Men" prequel revolving around his character, Wolverine.

"We have our final script," Jackman said, adding that he was fully satisfied with the untitled Wolverine prequel, which will start filming in late 2007, MTV.com reported Tuesday.

All that is known about the Wolverine prequel thus far is that "X-Men: The Last Stand" director Brett Ratner will not be involved.

"We're now finding a director, and probably in a year or so," Jackman said.

It is custom for every superhero movie to have a super villain, but it has not been released which nemesis Wolverine will face in the flick.

"It is a prequel, and it's going to be about the origins of the character. That's all that I can tell you -- you don't know how long ago that was, right? I've got to keep a few surprises for you guys," said Jackman.
